In a thrilling new venture, Nigerian actor, singer, and television personality Joseph Benjamin has returned to Nigeria to host the fashion-centred reality TV show, Style Magnate which airs on Showmax.
Known for his versatility across entertainment forms, Benjamin brings his charismatic presence to a show that promises to spotlight Nigeria’s burgeoning fashion industry.
Reflecting on why he chose to take on Style Magnate, Benjamin explained, “When they approached me, I loved the concept as it is fresh and new, and that attracted me. Based on stats, the fashion industry is seeing a massive boom, and if we focus on Nigeria, we see that fashion has become a thing, becoming a major staple of our industry.
A lot of Nigerians would rather wear locally made outfits as opposed to big brands we have been used to.”
For Benjamin, who has had an illustrious career in Nigeria and the U.S., the chance to support Nigeria’s creative sectors beyond music and theatre made the project all the more appealing.
“There are a lot of great opportunities to showcase what our fashion represents, and what better opportunity than a reality show like Style Magnate? This is new, great, and a brilliant idea, so let me jump on it,” he added.
