Hyde Out Releases Their Genre-Bending Album “Moonfactory”

London’s Hyde Out has never been a band that plays by the rules, and their latest album Moonfactory proves exactly why. Omar Merlo and Jaka Levstek have released a record that feels like a nostalgic mixtape, mixing threads of 90s British pop-rock, 60s folk, 80s electropop, and modern rock into something entirely their own.

Since their formation in 2014, Hyde Out has consistently reimagined and reshaped the sounds that influenced their musical roots. With Moonfactory, they return to the softer, melodic stylings that fans enjoyed on their earlier album, “Smoke and Mirrors”. Tracks like “Firefly,” “Dedicated to the Ones Who Want Me Dead,” “Games We Play,” and “Only Words” showcase the duo’s introspective lyricism and inventive melodies, seamlessly blending heartfelt emotions with diverse musical landscapes.

The album’s creation is as impressive as its sound. Recorded across four countries: London, Switzerland, New York, and Australia, “Moonfactory” embodies the essence of modern music-making. Each track feels nicely crafted, from the energetic opener “Oblivious” to the soaring “Go High.

“With Moonfactory, we wanted to create something that felt both familiar and new,” says the duo. “This album reflects our journey as musicians, blending everything we’ve learned from the past decade into something fresh and exciting. It’s about enjoying the ride, no matter what life throws at us.”

Hyde Out’s previous releases, including the critically acclaimed Smoke and Mirrors (2020) and the hard-hitting Tunnel Vision (2022), established the duo as an innovative force in rock and pop music. With Moonfactory, they continue their legacy, delivering a rich tapestry of sound that explores life’s complexities, both light and dark.

Featuring 13 dynamic tracks, Moonfactory reaffirms Hyde Out’s status as a genre-bending powerhouse. Fans can now stream the album on all major platforms and experience the duo’s unique blend of genres, emotions, and influences.

Whether you’re into rock, pop, folk, or something in between, there’s something here for you. Moonfactory is a reminder that great music knows no boundaries.
