Nigerian music star Davido has shared his interest in acting and revealed that he will be investing in movies this year.
In a recent chat with content creator Darryl, Davido, whose real name is David Adeleke, said that even if he wasn’t a singer, he would still be in the entertainment industry, just working behind the scenes.”I studied business marketing, so I would have still been in entertainment, but probably behind the scenes,” he said.
Davido also made it clear that he believes he has real acting talent. “I can act. I can act for real. I acted in my music videos like ‘Jowo’ and ‘Nwa Baby’,” he said.
He went on to announce that he is putting money into some film projects this year. “I’m investing in a couple of films this year. Shoutout to my director, Dammy Twitch. We have some ideas, series coming,” he added.
Davido also talked about the current state of the movie industry in Africa. “The film space right now in Africa is going bankrupt. So, we’re definitely going to tap into that,” he said.
Even though he’s still focused on his music, especially after dropping his new album 5ive, Davido is now also looking at making a name for himself in the movie world.
