Multiple award-winning Afrobeats superstar, Burna Boy has said that he writes all his songs by himself and does not use songwriters.
The self-proclaimed African Giant lamented over how western world often refer to producers he credited on his songs and albums as ‘writers’.
DMW signee, Logos Olori had in an interview with city 105FM disclosed that his boss, Davido isn’t the only one who make use of songwriters as Wizkid, Burna Boy and other big artistes do same.
Taking to the micro blogging platform X, Burna Boy stated that the creatives people label as songwriters are actually music producers that worked on the project with him.
He wrote:
“Any name you see credited on my songs are only producers of the songs or featured artists not writers. But for some reason the western world considers producers as writers of the instrumentals and they just throw their names on there as writers. Nobody fit write for Odogwu.”
