Previous interviews foresaw Rema voicing his feelings and views, and to date, his utterances bid a distinct outcome over expectations.
This time, Rema believes he is deservedly in line with the likes of Davido, Wizkid and Burna Boy, encircling his status as the Big four discarding the famous ‘Big three’.
According to him, it’s doesn’t have to count with ones durability in the game instead people should resort to the fact that he has proven his qualities. He bragged to have paved the way for global Afrobeat niche.
His words:
“I don’t want to feel like an Afrobeats Messiah. Sometimes I can’t wait for the OGs to say it but since no one is saying it, I might have to say it myself,”
Rema also discussed inspiration behind his “Heis” album, outlining that he wanted something different from what he has been dishing out. The ‘Calm Down’ crooner added that he wanted to resort back to the root of Afrobeat genre as he finds bliss in being unpredictable.
His words:
“I like the way I moved on to my new project. I don’t like to move the way people expect. I don’t like to move with the rules”.
Nigerians stormed their social media handles and reacted massively according to their feelings.
