Nigeria’s gifted singer, Jamopyper finally drops his debut album after series of back to back singles. The self titled project consist of 13 tracks and on it he enlist some of your favourite artists.

‘My debut album, JAMOPYPER, is out today Friday, July 21st. I dedicated immense effort and passion to make sure it satisfies my loyal fans who have supported me throughout the years. I am incredibly grateful to all the artists who collaborated on this project. To the producers, sound engineers, and my team, I deeply appreciate your significant contributions. I’m eagerly looking forward to sharing my music with all of you’.

Jamopyper (Jamiu Damilare Tajudeen) made a name for himself with his noteworthy performance on the 2020 Rahman Jago and Zlatan collab, “Of Lala“. With his flair for turning real-life tales into scorching groovy songs, follow-up singles defined him as one of the vanguards of Nigerian street-pop. Jamopyper’s 2023 self-titled debut reveals an abundance of personal, relatable stories and a a maturation of sound that showcase his deftness on Amapiano while honouring his roots in Fuji, Apala, and Were music.

“Runtown (Die Minute)” kicks off the album with infectious confidence, setting the tone for what’s to come. Throughout the project, Jamopyper’s unique romantic edge takes centre stage, and a flurry of guest artists join to enhance his storytelling with their perspectives. “Whenever“, featuring soul-baring singer, Chike, is an outpouring of assurance, while “Breakfast” unfurls a vulnerable side of Jamopyper.

Jamopyper’s knack for crafting up-tempo bangers forms the beating heart of his debut project. “Delay” with MohBad dials up the intensity, with electrifying drums and airy synths amplifying their requests to be loved. The album closes with the emotional “Who We See” where Jamopyper takes a reflective glance at how far he’s come.
