Jennifer Lopez’s ex-husband, Ojani Noa, has blamed Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs for contributing to the end of their brief marriage.
During an appearance on Despierta America, the 50-year-old actor opened up about his relationship with the superstar and claimed that Jennifer Lopez’s ex, the 54-year-old hip-hop mogul, played a role in their divorce.
“When Sony came and paid her the millions she got, there was Puffy [Combs], who was going to be one of the producers of several tracks on the first album On The 6,” Noa explained in Spanish. “That’s where the deception, the lies, the separation started.”
He added that the physical distance between them, while Lopez worked on her album and he managed his restaurant in Los Angeles, was where their relationship began to unravel. According to Noa, “In that separation, the deception started.”
Jennifer Lopez’s ex also revealed that the fallout from their marriage negatively impacted his career. He claimed that Lopez took legal actions against him and interfered with his job opportunities. Noa expressed frustration, asking,
“What did I do to you so that you have taken me to court, accused me, lied about me, and called companies to prevent me from getting work?”
Lopez and Noa were married from 1997 to 1998. After their split, Jennifer Lopez dated Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs from 1999 to 2001. Following her relationship with Jennifer Lopez’s ex, she married Cris Judd, then Marc Anthony, and most recently, Ben Affleck. Meanwhile, Diddy is facing multiple allegations of sexual abuse dating back to the 1990s, including accusations of drugging and sexual assault.
In other related news, Jennifer Lopez opened up about being single while addressing her and Ben Affleck divorce for the first time.
In an interview with Interview magazine on Wednesday, October 9, Lopez, 55, explained why she is “excited” to be on her own, two years after she and the actor, 52, tied the knot. Jennifer Lopez posed for sultry photos as she shared her thoughts about the Ben Affleck divorce, making her first comments since the split.
She said, “Everything that I’ve done over the past 25, 30 years, being in these different challenging situations, what can I f***ing do when it’s just me flying on my own … what if I’m just free?”
Though Lopez admitted to Nikki Glaser that the “new territory” is “lonely, unfamiliar, scary,” “sad” and “desperate,” the Grammy nominee emphasized that “being in a relationship doesn’t define” her. She continued to reflect on the Ben Affleck divorce, expressing that she can still find happiness on her own.
“When you sit in those feelings and go, ‘These things are not going to kill me,’ it’s like, ‘Actually, I am capable of joy and happiness all by myself,’” she explained. “I can’t be looking for happiness in other people. I have to have happiness within myself.”
Lopez acknowledged being a “romantic” who “love[s] being in relationships and want[s] to grow old with somebody.” But she said that after the Ben Affleck divorce, she realized, “We think, ‘I have to have that to be whole and happy.’ And you don’t.”
The actress, who was previously married to Ojani Noa, Cris Judd, and Marc Anthony before eloping with Affleck in Las Vegas in July 2022, lovingly called her past self a “dumb b****” for seeking out a partner. Now, she believes her relationship with herself is the “most important thing,” adding that it’s easy to lose focus on that when you’re wrapped up with other people.
