One of AFC Bournemouth’s inform players, Justin Kluivert has been named as the best player in the Premier League for January 2025.
The Dutch International was named the winner of the best player award from a poll of seven players who were also outstanding for their different clubs in January 2025. Justin Kluivert has been a key part of Bournemouth’s success since the beginning of 2024/25 but he took his performance a little notch higher by scoring seven goals for the Cherries.
Kluivert’s seven goals involvements in January were the joint-most of all players as the Dutchman helped to maintain Bournemouth’s pursuit of a European spot. The Cherries’ 12 goals scored was second only to the 15 goals scored by Manchester City as Kluivert netted in three of the Cherries’ four matches, including a stunning hat-trick at Newcastle.
He also joins an elite list of Dutch players to win the award, following the likes of Ruud van Nistelrooy, Dennis Bergkamp, Arjen Robben, Rafael van der Vaart, Robin van Persie, Tim Krul and Virgil van Dijk. Van Dijk was the last Dutch winner, in December 2018.
He is the first Bournemouth player to win the award since Dominic Solanke won it exactly one year ago in January 2024. Kluivert topped a seven-man shortlist after votes on the EA SPORTS website were combined with those of a panel of football experts.
