K.Keed Declares Debut Album ‘Bite The Bullet’ ‘Really Special’ In an intimate social media message late Thursday, rising hip-hop sensation K.Keed opened up about the deeply personal journey behind his eagerly awaited debut album, Bite The Bullet.
“Bite The Bullet is really special to me,” he wrote, offering fans a rare glimpse into the emotional heartbeat of his first full-length project.
Bite The Bullet is a 12-track journey that blends gritty lyricism, infectious beats, and a fearless exploration of life’s highs and lows. Hailing from the vibrant streets of Johannesburg, K.Keed channels his experiences into a sound that’s both distinctly local and universally relatable.
Tracks like “No Regrets” and “Bulletproof Dreams” showcase his ability to weave introspective storytelling with hard-hitting production, while collaborations with local heavyweights add an extra layer of authenticity to the project.
The album boasts an impressive lineup of South African artists, including A-Reece, Priddy Ugly, J’Something, Kaylow, Shekhinah, Sino Msolo, Zoë Modiga, Mo-T, Lúa, and Nasty C.
Notable tracks include “Dilemma” with A-Reece (despite initial controversy over a missing feature, later resolved), “Indaba Yethu” with J’Something and Kaylow, “Khululekha” with Sino Msolo, Zoë Modiga, and Mo-T, and the bonus track “Year 24” featuring Nasty C.
Key producers include BiggaBeatz, D3NZL, Denilson (SA), and Orish3000, with the latter receiving special praise from K.Keed for his support during the album’s creation. Bite The Bullet has achieved significant success, surpassing 2.5 million streams across platforms, with 1 million on Spotify, 500,000 on Apple Music, and 1 million YouTube views by May 2025.
As a Cape Town-born artist from Gugulethu, K.Keed’s debut is a milestone for South African hip-hop, particularly for female artists. Her rise follows her 2022 achievement as the most-streamed female hip-hop artist in South Africa.
The album’s live performance at Cappello’s in Braamfontein’s Gandhi Square was a standout event, rescheduled to align with fans’ paydays, showcasing K.Keed’s connection with her audience.
