Comedy superstar and Hollywood heavyweight Kevin Hart is bringing the laughs—and the legacy—to this year’s milestone celebration of Black excellence. The 2025 BET Awards are gearing up for an unforgettable night, with Hart tapped to host the 25th anniversary edition of the iconic ceremony on June 9 at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles.
Announced on Wednesday, the event promises to be more than just an awards show—it’s a tribute to a quarter-century of cultural impact. Organizers say this year’s celebration will spotlight the most powerful voices in music, film, television, and sports, while honoring the depth, richness, and influence of Black culture.
“As one of the most influential figures in entertainment, Hart’s presence highlights BET’s commitment to celebrating Black culture and its significant contributions to the global landscape,” read an official statement from BET.
With his trademark humor and high-voltage energy, Hart is expected to elevate the night with a blend of comedy and heartfelt moments. “I love a celebration! It’s a chance to reflect, cherish, and honor life’s unforgettable moments,” Hart said. “This year marks the 25th anniversary, and my partners at Hartbeat, BET, and Jesse Collins Entertainment are pulling out all the stops to make it a night to remember. It’s a Black-tie affair, and you’re all invited.”
The 2025 BET Awards will air live on June 10, bringing global audiences front-row access to what promises to be a spectacular night of music, fashion, and culture.
Hart, a best-selling author and award-winning actor, continues to break boundaries in comedy and entertainment. In 2023, he was named Billboard’s Highest-Grossing Comedian of the Year, and in 2024, he received the prestigious Mark Twain Prize for American Humor from the Kennedy Center.
