In weird fashion, the much anticipated EP by Kizz Daniel titled Uncle K which was supposed to drop today has failed to arrive on streaming platforms. This left fans in shock as much anticipation had been created for the EP and many music lovers were looking forward to it.
The artist also deleted all his posts from his Instagram and majority of the posts on his X platform. The most recent posts on his X account dates back to 2019 and is a promotional tweet of his hit single Pak and Go.
This is very surprising to fans as Kizz Daniel himself made a lot of noise about the EP, and has been very active on social media, building an organic conversation for the project.
Many do not know the cause of this move, and why Kizz Daniel would decide to delete all his posts. This is something we do see with artists, as acts like Wizkid and Rema have at one time or the other deleted all the posts on their social accounts when they plan to release music. This does not however explain Kizz Daniel’s move as other artists do this before they drop, and Kizz is doing his own on the night of release.
The singer previously revealed he will take a break from releasing new music until 2026, following the unveiling of his highly anticipated EP, Uncle K, which was set to drop on November 29, 2024.
“After this, I no dey drop anything again until 2026,” he announced on his X handle last week Friday, sparking a wave of reactions from fans who expressed their mixed feelings at the thought of his absence from the music scene.
While fans were commenting on his sabbatical, the artiste shared a personal tragedy, revealing that his wife recently lost her mother to breast cancer.“My wife lost her mom to breast cancer, and I’m here mourning with her… Say a prayer for her mom, Vaddicts,” he wrote. This could also be a reason why he has decided to put a pause on the EP.
Since his breakout hit Woju in 2016, Kizz Daniel has cemented his place as one of Nigeria’s most consistent hitmakers, boasting five studio albums and an impressive catalogue of chart-topping singles.
We await an official statement from Kizz Daniel or his team as to why one of the most anticipated projects of the fourth quarter was mysteriously moved without proper communication.
