The drama surrounding Kylian Mbappe’s future at PSG continues as fresh reports on Real Madrid’s interest are reportedly set to turn the tides in the January 2024 transfer window.
According to Forbes, Kylian Mbappe whose contract at PSG expires in the summer of 2024 has reportedly reached an agreement with Real Madrid.
Forbes revealed, “Kylian Mbappe has agreed to join Real Madrid when his Paris Saint-Germain contract expires this summer according to French transfer market expert Santi Aouna via Footmercato. Mbappe extended his deal with the Qatari-backed Ligue 1 outfit in 2022 when famously ditching Madrid at the altar. Though he was paraded at the Parc des Princes with an ‘Mbappe 2025’ jersey following the renewal, an extra year was optional meaning that the Russia 2018 World Cup winner has been free to negotiate with potential suitors since January 1.”

Questions about the future of Mbappe at PSG resurfaced following his interview on January 4, 2024, where he spoke about how he is motivated to do more this year.
With a new competition for the best footballer of the year starting in 2024, many think that Kylian Mbappe might have to consider a move away from PSG to be viewed as one of the contenders.
In the interview, he said, “It’s very important. As I said, we’ve got titles to go after and we’ve already taken one. After that, I haven’t made up my mind yet. I haven’t made a choice. With the agreement I made with the President last summer, whatever my decision, we managed to protect all parties and preserve the club’s serenity for the challenges ahead, which remains the most important thing. So let’s say it’s secondary.”
