Avid songwriter and Amaka crooner, Peruzzi is on the news for other reasons apart from music after a student made defamatory tweets about him.
The incident began when Baddy of LASU posted a screenshot of a tweet supposedly written by Peruzzi, suggesting the singer had made the post but later deleted it. The caption, “You no go fold keh,” implied that Peruzzi made the tweet and folded by deleting it. The tweet read “We used to be so close but because you hear say I dey pipe your wife you start to give me attitude. I don leave your circle sha. Ungrateful n*gga like say if I no write your songs you for blow,”. The tweet suggested that Peruzzi was referring to Timeless crooner, Davido.

The Lagos State University (LASU) student known online as Baddy of LASU has now apologised to singer Peruzzi and music star Davido after being arrested for posting the defamatory tweet. Peruzzi had vehemently denied the tweet’s authenticity, calling it “edited” and vowed legal action against the individual responsible. He also warned the student that their actions could put their graduation at risk.
On February 22, 2024, Baddy of LASU was arrested and released a video apology addressed to both Peruzzi and Davido. He expressed remorse for his actions, acknowledged the tweet was fake, and pleaded for forgiveness. The student also deleted the original tweets. While no formal charges were filed, the arrest and subsequent apology appear to have brought the situation to a close.
