
Liverpool supporters will have to wait a few more days before they get to see Florian Wirtz in the red jersey of the club ahead of the new season ( 2025/26).
Liverpool has reached a club-record deal for Florian Wirtz, as they are set to pay Bayer Leverkusen £100million initial fee for the German and a further £16million in add-ons. This total transfer fee is the highest that any club has paid for any player in the history of the Premier League.
David Ornstein of the Athletic confirmed the news on his official social media account on Monday, June 16 2025. He said Florian Wirtz will complete his medical this week and will be unveiled to the club’s supporters.
He said,
“Florian Wirtz expected to arrive in UK later this week current plan for medical Friday before completing transfer from Bayer Leverkusen to Liverpool. Fee £100m guaranteed + up to £16m add-ons to #Bayer04. Proposed 5-year contract with #LFC.”
Milos Kekez is also another player who will join the Reds from Bournemouth before the end of the 2025 summer transfer window. Liverpool supporters will hope that the arrival of both players will boost their chances of winning the Premier League next season.
