French league Ligue 1 caused a stir with Phyno fans after posting a picture of their player, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The intended message likely aimed to promote the upcoming season or celebrate Aubameyang’s return to the league. However, the internet had other plans. Fans were quick to point out the uncanny resemblance between Aubameyang and Nigerian rapper Phyno.
The comment section flooded with questions like “Is that Phyno?” and hilarious remarks about Aubameyang’s “secret rap career.” This isn’t the first time Phyno’s look-alike has caused a frenzy online. In 2022, a picture of a masquerade (a spirit represented in certain Nigerian ceremonies) with a striking resemblance to Phyno went viral.
Due to the similar facial features, the internet can’t deny the resemblance. The Ligue 1 account is also yet to respond to the comments.
