
Manchester City is reportedly open to selling its first-choice goalkeeper Ederson before the new football season kicks off in August 2025.
Transfer news guru, Fabrizio Romano confirmed the news on his official X account on Saturday, July 19, 2025. According to the Italian, Manchester City are expecting Galatasaray to begin talks for the Brazilian international who has been a long-serving player of the Cityzens.
Who will replace Ederson at Manchester City?
The Cityzens are looking at the possibility of replacing Ederson at Manchester City. James Harrington Trafford (born 10 October 2002) is an English professional goalkeeper currently playing for Burnley in the Premier League.
Ederson is also open to joining the Turkish-based club after he was impressed by the project that Galatasaray is currently working on. They are willing to match his City wages but the transfer fee has to be subsidized.
He is the second goalkeeper Galatasaray has spoken to this season. The first was Petrovic that was ready to make that move to Turkey but an agreement with Chelsea could not be reached
The Plan is to accelerate talks with Manchester City soon, however there is no agreement reached for now between both clubs. Ederson joined Manchester City during the 2017 summer transfer window from Benfica.
