Manchester United have confirmed that the manager of its women’s team, Marc Skinner has signed a contract extension with the club.
The announcement was made on the official website of the club on Wednesday, April 2, 2025. According to reports from the club, the decision to extend Marc Skinner’s contract was due to the club’s impressive run in the league and across other competitions.
“It has been an absolute privilege to serve as head coach for this fantastic football club for the past four years, and I am delighted to be extending my time in the role for at least a further two years. We are building a young, hungry team with the aim of challenging consistently for further trophies. There is still more hard work ahead, including this season, but the players and staff have already shown their determination to succeed, and I am looking forward to us taking the next steps in our journey together.”
The women’s team of Manchester United have been on a good run since Skinner took charge of the club since 2021. He has lead the team to the club’s first trophy by winning the FA Cup last year after making it to the final in the 2022/23 season.
In the Women’s Super League, Skinner’s side came second in the 2022/23 campaign, achieving Champions League football for the first time. This season, the women are currently sat in third place holding the league’s best defensive record and still battling in the FA Cup with a semi-final to come.
