Marcus Rashford’s incredible season with Aston Villa has come to an end following the recent report of the England star player picking up an injury.
Marcus Rashford is reportedly dealing with a hamstring injury that could rule him out for the remainder of the Premier League season. Aston Villa is set to conduct further tests to determine the severity of the issue.
Since joining Aston Villa on loan from Manchester United in January, Rashford has been a standout performer, contributing four goals and six assists in 17 appearances. However, with only four matches left in the season, it seems likely that he has already played his final game for the club.
The situation is further complicated as Rashford is ineligible to play against his parent club, Manchester United, on the final day of the season. He also missed Aston Villa’s FA Cup semi-final defeat to Crystal Palace due to a reported injury. Manager Unai Emery confirmed his absence and handed the starting role to Ollie Watkins, who was unable to find the back of the net as Villa exited the competition. Before this setback, Rashford had been a consistent presence in every match since his arrival.
Aston Villa currently occupies seventh place in the league standings, positioning them well for European qualification. However, Rashford’s participation in next season’s campaign remains uncertain as he evaluates his options ahead of the summer transfer window. The forward is reportedly keen on playing in the Champions League.
A return to Manchester United appears unlikely, as Rashford and manager Ruben Amorim have had disagreements regarding his work ethic and attitude in training. These issues led to Rashford’s departure from the club.
Another Manchester United loanee, Antony, is also expected to leave the club this summer. Antony, who joined Real Betis in January after a challenging start to his Premier League season, has thrived in Spain, recording nine goal contributions in 18 matches.
