The match between Liverpool and Manchester City is expected to be a keenly contested encounter, as both teams are top contenders in the Premier League.

With their attacking prowess and solid defenses, it’s likely to be a closely fought battle. The key players to watch out for include Mohamed Salah for Liverpool while the trio of Kevin De Bruyne, Erling Halaand and Phil Foden will be key for Manchester City.

Players of both sides have been speaking tough ahead of the top-of-the-table clash, a game that both sides can not afford a defeat. It’s bound to be an exciting clash between two of English football’s giants.

Liverpool have won each of their last four league matches in the Premier League including a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Nottingham Forest on Matchday 27. The Reds have not lost in their last 25 league matches at Anfield, recording 20 wins and five draws during that period.

Manchester City have also been fantastic in the last few games, having gone unbeaten in their last 10 league matches, having secured nine wins and one draw during this period.

They followed up their 3-1 win over Manchester United over the weekend with a similar 3-1 victory over FC Copenhagen in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Manchester City are unbeaten in their last three meetings with Liverpool in all competitions, having recorded two wins and a draw during that period. The last time both sides met in the league, it ended 1-1. However, the last time they met in at Anfield in the league, Liverpool won the game 1-0.

Team News

Liverpool supporters will be excited following the latest fitness of Mohamed Salah who returned to full training ahead of the clash against the Cityzens. The midfielder last featured in Liverpool’s 4-1 win over Brentford on February 17, 2024, in the Premier League. He missed four games after that, including the Carabao Cup final, due to a recurrence of a hamstring issue.
