
Arsenal’s head coach, Mikel Arteta has sent a message to his players ahead of the crucial UEFA Champions League clash against Real Madrid.
The Spaniard confirmed during his pre-match press conference that the goal of the team ahead of the game is to win against Real Madrid. According to him, playing defensive football will not help the mindset of his team but focusing on winning the game despite the first leg result is what his players need.
He said,
The mindset for tonight is to win. It is the way we feel more comfortable and it’s how we play football in to be better than our rival”
Arteta has most of his his first team players available for the game after Thomas Partey travelled with the squad despite the injury scare against Brentford. The club’s supporters will hope they can maintain the momentum when they face Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Arsenal won the first leg 3-0 and they will be hoping that scoreline will be enough to see them through to the semi-finals of the Champions League.
