The 30BG frontman has teased an Amapiano record featuring a descendant of the legendary Marley family.

Nigerian Afrobeats heavyweight David Adeleke, widely known as Davido, has hinted at what he calls his first single of 2024.

Since releasing his fourth studio album Timeless in March 2023, Davido has not dropped a single but has been active in collaborations, racking up five features this year. These include fan favourites like the Twe Twe remix with Kizz Daniel and the Ogechi remix with Boypee, Hyce, and Brown Joel. Now, he is finally set to release an independent record.

The upcoming single features YG Marley, the grandson of reggae icon Bob Marley, who recently visited Nigeria and joined Davido in the studio. This collaboration is particularly intriguing, as the track is an uptempo Amapiano record.

Given the soulful nature of reggae music, some fans are surprised by Davido’s choice to feature YG Marley on this upbeat track. This sentiment has been echoed across social media, where the snippet has sparked mixed reactions among music enthusiasts.
