Mohamed Salah ensured that Liverpool extended their lead at the top of the Premier league table with 11 points over Arsenal following an impressive performance over Manchester City at the Etihad.

Liverpool superstar, Mohamed Salah showed the world why he is one of the best player in the world in the first half as he scored the opening goal in the first half of the match and also assisted the second goal which was scored by Dominik Szoboszlai. The victory over Manchester City is th first time that the Reds are getting a victory over Pep Guardiola’s team at the Etihad stadium.

Salah struck his league-leading 25th goal of the season in the 14th minute at the Etihad Stadium following a corner with a blistering shot from near the top of box that deflected off the outstretched foot of City defender Nathan Ake past goalkeeper Ederson.

has scored and assisted in 11 Premier League games in 2024-25, the most by a player in a single season in one of Europe’s big five leagues since Lionel Messi in 2014-15 (also 11).

Arne Slot side have 64 points from 27 matches ahead of second-placed Arsenal, who have a game in hand. City are in fourth placed on 44 as their early-season quest for a fifth consecutive title seem to have come to an end.

What did Mohamed Salah say about the victory over Manchester City?

The Egyptian King expressed his excitement about the victory and confirmed that Liverpool are focused in winning the Premier League title this season ( 2024/25).

He said,

“I don’t know. It is opinion. Maybe people prefer my first seasons or now but I prefer now because winning the league, helping the young players, it is special. We need another title. Me and the big guys in the team, we need another title.”

Liverpool fans will hope they don’t get to bottle the league as they continue in their quest to win another league title.
