Liverpool’s superstar midfielder, Mohamed Salah has been announced as the best player of the 2024/25 Premier League season following his impressive performance for the Champions.

The Premier League player of the season award is one of the most prestigious individual honors in English football, recognizing the outstanding performances of players throughout the campaign. Each year, the award is given to the player who has consistently demonstrated exceptional skill, talent, and impact on their team’s success.

The midfielder is the fifth player in Premier League history to win the award on multiple occasions. He won the in 2017/18, follows in the footsteps of fellow two-time winners Thierry Henry, Cristiano Ronaldo, Nemanja Vidic and Kevin De Bruyne. Having signed a new contract, Salah will head into next season aiming to be the first ever player to win it three times.

He is third on Liverpool’s all-time scorers’ list, with 244 goals and fifth in the Premier League reaching 185 goals in the competition, behind only Shearer (260), Harry Kane (213), Wayne Rooney (208), and Cole (187).

Mohamed Salah has been in scintillating form during the 2024/25 season, showcasing his exceptional speed, skill, and goal-scoring prowess. The Egyptian forward has been a key driver of Liverpool’s success, consistently delivering outstanding performances and breaking records.

The Egyptian King produced one of the all-time great individual Premier League seasons, producing five more goals and six more assists than any other player. He is just one goal or assist away from matching the all-time record for most goal involvements in a single campaign, a record jointly held by Alan Shearer and Andrew Cole.

Salah came out top of a shortlist of the nominated eight players from over a thousand players who were registered by the 20 clubs at the start of the 2024/25 Premier League season. These players were selected based on their impressive form and how they have helped their team achieve success this season.
