Murumba Pitch Calls It Quits: Amapiano Duo Splits After 12 Years

The beloved Amapiano duo Murumba Pitch, comprised of Thabang Innocent Mangolo and Emmanuel Nanga Manthye, has officially announced their separation, marking the end of an era for fans of their signature sound.

Originally formed in 2012 by rapper Chifo Charge, the group later transitioned under Thabang’s leadership, evolving into a powerhouse duo that gained international recognition. Over the years, they delivered hit collaborations with some of the biggest names in the industry, including De Mthuda, Nkosazana Daughter, and Kabza De Small.

Despite their success, internal differences led to their mutual decision to part ways. A close source revealed that while disputes are natural, the duo ultimately reached a point where reconciliation was no longer possible. “They have different visions; I think they fulfilled their purpose as a duo. Maybe it was the right time to pursue solo careers,” the source shared.

Confirming the news, the “Wena Dali” and “Esangweni” hitmakers expressed sadness over the decision but emphasized that it was necessary for their individual growth. Following a crucial meeting on March 6, both artists agreed to dissolve their partnership and contractual ties with immediate effect.

In a joint statement, they reassured fans, saying, “The decision marks a new chapter, and both parties are committed to moving forward independently, focusing on new opportunities and future endeavors.” They also assured supporters that business interests under the Murumba Pitch brand would be fairly managed.

While new bookings for the duo have been halted, Thabang clarified that previously scheduled performances would still go ahead. “Those who have booked us for the future should not panic; we will still rock. We also have new music coming out; we are right here,” he reassured.

Though their journey as a duo has ended, both artists remain active in the music scene, and fans can look forward to their individual projects in the Amapiano space.
