In a fiery response to accusations from his twin brother, Paul ‘Rudeboy’ Okoye, Peter ‘Mr P’ Okoye has vehemently denied claims of song theft surrounding his recent single, Winning. The tension between the brothers, who were once part of the highly successful music group Psquare, continues to escalate after their public split earlier this year.

Mr P released Winning just a few months after confirming that Psquare was no longer active. However, on Friday, Rudeboy took to social media, accusing Mr P of hijacking the track. He claimed that Winning was originally intended for his upcoming album, and that the producer involved had taken the song without his consent.

In a bid to clear his name, Mr P shared a series of videos on Instagram, showing his conversation with the producer, Vampire, who confirmed that he had been commissioned by Mr P to work on the song. Vampire also clarified that Ogbogu ‘Calypso’ Chijioke was the song’s original composer and contributed to the final version of Winning. Mr P further revealed that the track had been part of the material Psquare had intended to release before their split.

“I’m tired of this constant negativity,” Mr P declared, addressing the accusations directly. “Every time I try to focus on my music and business, there’s always some drama. It’s clear to me that my brother is trying to tarnish my image.”

Mr P

Emphasizing his desire for peace and progress, Mr P continued, “I took a break to clear my mind and get myself back on track. When I was ready, I came back with Winning! The world needs to know the truth—I’m in a good place creatively, and I want us all to win. I’m here to focus on my craft, live my life, and celebrate my wins—big and small. Let’s keep the drama out of it.”

Rudeboy

Vampire, the producer at the center of the controversy, also weighed in on the issue. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), he posted pictures from a 2022 meeting with both Mr P and Rudeboy, supporting Mr P’s account of the song’s creation. Vampire’s post further fueled the debate, adding another layer to the public fallout between the brothers.
