Nigerian actress Regina Daniels has revealed that her family, including her mother, initially opposed her marriage to politician Ned Nwoko. The couple tied the knot in 2019 and are now proud parents to two sons.
In a candid TikTok live session, Regina Daniels clarified misconceptions surrounding her marriage, specifically addressing claims that her mother forced her into the union. “I married Ned Nwoko of my own free will,” she stated emphatically.
The actress shared that, at the time, her family was not supportive of her decision, although she did not elaborate on the reasons behind their opposition. “My mum and my whole family were against the marriage,” she admitted, shedding light on the struggles she faced.
During the session, Regina Daniels recounted her life before marrying Nwoko, stating she had a multitude of suitors—more than 20 boyfriends—each serving different purposes in her life. “I was so angry I had to go sightseeing with everyone, but then I met this cute man,” she recalled, hinting at the chemistry that blossomed between her and Nwoko.
“Your boyfriend should not stop you from finding your husband,” she advised her followers, reflecting on her journey. “When I started with my husband, I forgot I was supposed to have a boyfriend.”
Regina Daniels began her acting career at just seven years old, with her mother’s encouragement, starring in the film Marriage of Sorrow. Over the years, she has appeared in various notable movies, including Plantain Girl, The Jericho, and Naked Sacrifice, earning numerous awards for her talent.
Ned Nwoko, her husband, is a prominent politician and serves as the senator representing Delta North. Despite the initial family opposition, Regina Daniels and Nwoko’s marriage continues to thrive, demonstrating that love can triumph over challenges.
