England defender Myles Lewis Skelly has committed his future to Arsenal Football Club by signing a contract extension with the Gunners.
The news of the 18-year-old contract extension was confirmed on Arsenal’s website on Thursday, June 26, 2025. Lewis-Skelly broke into the first team during the 2024/25 season and established himself as a regular player making 39 appearances in all competitions.
The defender said his decision to sign the extension was because he wanted to win trophies with the Gunners and also create a legacy.
” I want to win everything there is to win in the game. I want to win trophies on the biggest stages whilst being a person that’s always learning and stays grounded, which is so important. I know I’ve taken a lot of experience from the games about the positive moments, the mistakes that I’ve made. I am definitely more ready now for the next season. I just want to keep learning and keep improving.”
He was a central midfielder in Arsenal’s academy but has excelled at left-back, with freedom to step into midfield, since making his Premier League debut as a substitute against Manchester City in September 2024.
