The supporters of Chelsea Football Club have received their worst nightmare after it was confirmed that Nicolas Jackson would be out injured for at least two months.
The Telegraph confirmed the injury news to Nicolas Jackson on its official website on Wednesday, February 12, 2025. According to reports, the Senegalese international underwent a surgery which confirmed that the striker would not be available until April 2025.
What happened to Nico Jackson?
The forward player suffered a damage to his hamstring and will not be available until Chelsea’s game against Tottenham Hotspur on April 2 at the earliest.
Enzo Maresca had initially believed that Jackson would not be ruled out too long with the injury he suffered in the victory over West Ham United. Maresca will have to set up his team for the next couple of games without an out-and-out striker for the foreseeable future, with Marc Guiu also out injured.
How many games will Nicolas Jackson miss for Chelsea?
Jackson will miss Friday night’s trip to Brighton, as well as the journey to Aston Villa and games against Southampton, Leicester City and Arsenal. Chelsea also play a two-legged Europa Conference League last-16 tie in March.
This injury is a big blow for Chelsea’s quest to finish in a UEFA Champions League spot as Maresca would have to rely on either Christopher Nkunku or Cole Palmer to play as a false 9. The Blues would be hoping for a win against Brighton in their next Premier League game at the Amex on Friday, February 14, 2025, having won two of their last eight Premier League games.
