The 2025 edition of the African All Entertainment Awards (AAEA), held in Nairobi, saw Nigerian artists dominate the night with major wins across multiple categories, highlighting the country’s growing influence on the global music scene.

Afrobeats sensation Wizkid secured the Best Afro-R&B Song for his collaborative hit Piece of My Heart featuring Brent Faiyaz. Meanwhile, Asake and Wizkid jointly won Best Afro-Native Song for their track MMS off Asake’s third studio album Lungu Boy.

Rising global star Ayra Starr took home Best Female Artist in West Africa, while street-pop sensation Seyi Vibez was named Best Male Artist in the region. On the rap front, Odumodublvck clinched Best Rapper in West Africa, adding to his impressive run of accolades.

Davido and Chris Brown‘s collaboration Hmm earned them Best Global Collaboration, proving yet again the power of cross-continental partnerships. British-Nigerian singer Darkoo was honored with Best Diasporan Act following the success of her track Favourite Girl remix featuring Rema.

Global heavyweight Burna Boy emerged as Best Overall Male Artist of the Year, cementing his place as one of Africa’s most dominant musical exports. Tems, another Grammy winner, won Best Global Female African Artist, a nod to her continuous rise on the world stage.

Additional big wins came from Diamond Platnumz, who received Best Global African Male Artist, and Tyla, who was named Best Southern African Act.

The AAEA 2025 was a celebration of Africa’s rich musical talent and the global recognition of its artists, particularly Nigerian musicians who continue to lead the charge.
