NotJustOk has launched the Afrobeats Power Ranking, a dynamic ranking system that identifies the genre’s most dominant artists each month based on key performance indicators.

This system ranks artists based on a variety of metrics, including total global streams, recent music releases (songs, EPs, and albums released within the last month), social engagement, and user-generated content, among others.

While new songs (singles and off-projects) released within the month are prioritised, global streams accumulated during the month are also considered. This allows for the influence of emerging or breakout artists such as Llona, Muyeez, TML Vibez, Qing Madi, and others to be well-documented alongside established stars such as Wizkid, Burna Boy, Davido, Rema, Tems, Ayra Starr, and more.

What is Afrobeats Power Ranking?

The ranking provides a clear snapshot of an artist’s influence and momentum in the Afrobeats scene on a monthly basis, ensuring that both established stars and up-and-coming artists are properly recognised. NotJustOk examines streaming numbers, live performances, and audience engagement to provide a reliable and data-driven assessment of the genre’s most significant movers. In a nutshell, it’s a list of the top 50 Afrobeats artists who dominated the month under review.

Why the Afrobeats Power Ranking matters

Afrobeats continues to dominate the global music scene, and NotJustOk’s Afrobeats Power Ranking provides fans, industry stakeholders, and artists with an accurate, transparent, and evolving measure of success. By taking into account a wide range of indicators, this ranking reflects both commercial success and cultural impact, making it the ultimate metric for Afrobeats supremacy.

With a dedicated website in the works and plans to add more data points to the point system, the Afrobeats Power Ranking is set to not only highlight the most powerful afrobeats artists on a monthly basis but also to celebrate the genre’s evolution.

Stay tuned as we update the Afrobeats Power Ranking regularly to track the hottest artists shaping the sound of the moment!
