It has been announced that Thousands of Oasis tickets on the secondary market may relisted on Ticketmaster at face value. The BBC announced the latest development
The Representatives for Ticketmaster and SJM Concerts, the promoters for Oasis’ tour of reunion told the BBC that the approximately about 4% of the 1.4 million tickets sold for the band U.K. stops ended up on resale sites. It was noted that the tickets, which amounted to about 50,000 according to the percentage reported by the BBC, will be withdrawn.
It was noted that any individual who has bought the ticket and feels the ticket was cancelled without proper justification could contact the ticket agents to open a proper investigation, the BBC revealed.
There were no responses provided by Oasis, Ticketmaster, or SJM Concerts after a request or comment was made to them.
Oasis had disclosed that tickets for the Oasis ’25 Live tour could only be resold at face value using Ticketmaster or the ticket resale marketplace Twickets.
It was disclosed that the measures were important because efforts were being made to ensure individuals do not indulge in ticket scalping or reselling of tickets at a higher price with the aim of making more profit.
The demand for Oasis tickets has been high since the band, which features brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher, has not performed together in 15 years following a lengthy rivalry between the Gallaghers.
It was noted that some of the fans found it difficult to buy tickets when the sale for the fans in the UK was announced. Some persons reported that some websites had listed that the tickets were available for resale, which could amount to 6,000 British pounds ($7,800) shortly after they became available.
After the announcement was made, Oasis tried and made many efforts to ensure that the tickets were taken away from individuals who were ready to go into ticket resale and that individuals who were loyal fans got the tickets for the tour.
Some of the supporters around the globe have made complaints about the prices that were taken higher by some people, which could stop some of the loyal fans from seeing their favourite artists during the events in the next tour, which is happening after 15 years. Some music fans stated that fandom and devotion should be considered when granting ticket sale access.
In another effort to help fans in the US, when tickets for the U.S. leg of the Oasis tour went on sale, the band implemented a questionnaire to keep the sale “fan-focused” and opted out of dynamic pricing to improve the ticket-buying experience.
Also, after tickets for the Australian leg of the tour went on sale, it was announced that tickets for the two Melbourne shows could not be resold for over 10% above their original value.
It has been announced that the tour will start in the U.K. and Ireland in July 2025 before moving to North America in late August. The band will play in Toronto, Chicago, Los Angeles, Mexico City and East Rutherford, New Jersey, during its North American part of the tour.
