Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck has broken his silence on the dramatic incident at the Nativeland Festival on December 21, 2024, when the stage suddenly collapsed during his performance, causing widespread panic among the crowd.

In a recent interview with HIPTV, the Afrobeats star revealed his calm and composed reaction during the unsettling moment. Despite the panic surrounding him, Odumodublvck shared that he did not feel afraid or anxious.

“For some reason, I wasn’t scared. I didn’t panic. God is always with me,” the artist said, reflecting on the terrifying moment.

While the stage collapse caused a stir, Odumodublvck took the opportunity to shed light on the complexities of organizing large-scale events. He emphasized that such incidents are the result of many moving parts, and the blame should not fall solely on one individual or group.

“Situations like this can be avoided, and I think the company that hosted the show, Native, has released a statement confirming that they are investigating what went wrong with the stage and production company,” Odumodublvck explained. “There’s a lot that goes into organizing a show—production companies, sound and lighting teams, security—and people often don’t understand this. It’s not just one person’s fault. There are different factions involved in putting together an event.”

The singer also took a moment to express gratitude that no lives were lost and that the injuries sustained by attendees were being properly addressed.

“All in all, we thank God nobody died, and the casualties have been taken care of to the best of my knowledge,” he added.
