Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck, whose real name is Tochukwu Ojogwu, is recovering in the hospital after surviving a terrifying car accident. The Declan Rice hitmaker took to his X page on Tuesday, February 25, to share the news, posting images of his damaged car and himself receiving medical treatment. Despite the traumatic event, Odumodublvck’s message was one of resilience and determination.
“Survived. The machine must arrive in one piece. It is a must. The machine is coming,” the rapper wrote, using the term “the machine” as a reference to himself, signaling his unwavering spirit.
This accident follows a troubling incident just months ago in December 2024, when a stage collapse occurred during Odumodublvck’s performance at Sol Beach in Elegushi, Lagos. Fortunately, the rapper escaped both incidents unharmed, showing that luck is on his side.
The rapper, known for his dynamic stage presence and genre-blending music, has been in the spotlight for more than just his music. In recent months, he faced backlash after knocking a fan’s cellphone away when the fan attempted to record his performance. The incident sparked heated debates online, with many accusing him of assault. However, Odumodublvck has yet to publicly address these claims.
Odumodublvck rose to fame after signing with NATIVE Records in 2022, in partnership with Def Jam Recordings. That same year, he released his breakout single Picanto, featuring ECko Miles and Zlatan Ibile. But it was the release of Declan Rice, named after the English footballer, that truly skyrocketed his popularity.
