Afrobeat rapper Olamide has become the most streamed African rapper on Spotify.

The YBNL leader and acclaimed rapper has achieved the remarkable distinction of being the most-streamed African rapper on Spotify. Olamide has amassed an impressive 630 million streams on Spotify, underscoring his enduring success and impact in the music industry.

Olamide became a Grammy-nominated artist at the 66th Grammy Awards. Amapiano by Asake and Olamide clinched a nomination for Best African Music Performance. Beyond his accomplishments as a rapper, Olamide has proven himself as a successful label owner with his YBNL imprint, fostering the rise of talents such as Lil Kesh, Adekunle Gold, Pheelz, Fireboy, and Asake.

Notably, Olamide holds the unique honor of being the sole Nigerian rapper and artist to clinch three consecutive Headies Album of the Year awards. His albums YBNL (2012), Baddest Guy Ever Liveth (2013), and Street OT (2014) won at the Headies.

Zlatan, the Nigerian artist, attributes his career breakthrough to Olamide, acknowledging him for his success. Similarly, Joeboy expressed that the prolific rapper is his role model. He stated his aspiration to emulate Olamide’s achievements in his career.
