Nigerian rap legend Olamide Gbenga Adedeji recently became the subject of online chatter following a light-hearted critique from popular food and etiquette commentator, Opeyemi Famakin.
In a now-viral video, Olamide was captured in a relaxed setting at home, casually serving himself a glass of champagne. However, the choice of Olamide to hold the glass by the bowl instead of the stem sparked a response from Opeyemi Famakin, who is known for pointing out social and dining etiquette, particularly among public figures.
Rather than issuing a harsh critique, Famakin opted for a humorous and respectful tone, playfully advising the Hello Habibi hitmaker to hold the glass by the stem next time. He also added a disclaimer, saying he wasn’t looking for trouble, a move likely aimed at keeping Olamide’s loyal fanbase from reacting negatively.
Olamide, who rarely engages in online commentary, offered a witty response. In his reply, he dismissed the etiquette correction with humor, saying, “Help me dey hold am as you want. Some of us no hear shishii. Thank you, God bless your hustle.”
The exchange has since sparked reactions across social media, with fans appreciating the light-hearted banter between the two public figures.
