However, the game was not without controversy, as the referees made a questionable decision regarding the goal scored by Juventus star Jennifer Echegini in the 47th minute of the game.
The Super Falcons were on the front foot from the very first whistle of the game and would probably feel outdone by the decision of the linesman in the fixture if the return leg of the fixture which would be played at the M.K.O Abiola Stadium in Abuja.
