Nigeria to the world!!! Rema and Omah Lay are set to headline the 2024 Dour festival.

The DOUR festival will be introducing Afrobeats to its extensive line-up at the 2024 edition. Dour Festival is an annual music festival in the municipality of Dour, Belgium. Since its creation in 1988, the festival has grown to an attendance of about 225,000 in 2015. This year’s edition opens on 17 July and will run for five days, until 21 July.

The event team is adding 50 new names to its varied and tempting lineup. Other global performers like NSG, Justice, Skepta, SCH, The Blessed Madonna, and Four Tet are just a handful of the impressive lineup.

In addition to his upcoming performance at DOUR festival, Rema has also promised to bring home a Grammy. Although Rema did not receive a nomination at the 2024 Grammys, he asserted during his visit to billionaire businessman Tony Elumelu’s Lagos mansion that he would secure a Grammy win during the next edition.

Rema also clinched five nominations at the 2024 edition of the iHeart Radio awards. The song ‘Calm Down,’ featuring Selena Gomez, earned nominations for Song of the Year, Best African Music Act, Best New Artist (Pop), Best Collaboration, and Pop Song of the Year.

During a exclusive interview with Beat FM on January 17, 2024, the acclaimed singer Omah Lay highlighted a significant change in the Afrobeat scene. Omah Lay asserted that the familiar sound associated with Afrobeat will change a lot in 2024 and the coming years. He shared that he’s already bringing in a fresh sound for Afrobeat, giving us a taste of it in his latest hit single, ‘Holy Ghost.’
