Following the poor run of form of Man United in the 2024/2025 season, club legend Paul Scholes has listed 8 players that should be sold.
Former Man United player Paul Scholes has adviced the club owners to consider the option of selling eight players in the 2025 transfer window.
Paul Scholes in a recent press session shared the reason he was of the opinion that players some of which include Marcus Rashford, Matthijs de Ligt & Lisandro Martinez should be let go of by the club.
Manchester United are currently 13th on the Premier League table, which their lowest in 22 matches in the competition history.
Many had hoped for a turn around in fortune at the club when Ruben Amorim took charge of the club in November 2024 following the sacking of Erik ten Hag but from all indications, the results have remained the same.
Ruben Amorim has struggled to turn the bad run around and this has led Scholes to describe this present Manchester United squad as the worst Manchester United team ever, and he also highlighted the need for a significant rebuild to restore the club’s former dominance.
Speaking in a video shared on TNT Sports’ social media channels, Scholes named the players he believes Manchester United should sell.
His list included high-profile names in Rashford, Martinez, De Ligt, Luke Shaw, Mason Mount, Casemiro, Antony and Joshua Zirkzee. Speaking on Onana, Scholes stated, “I think I’d keep him. There’s more to come from him, but I’d keep him”.Of Mainoo, the former midfielder highlighted his promise, saying, “One of the brightest talents this club has got. Keep”.Garnacho’s inclusion was less definitive, with Scholes commenting, “Still young. Can still get better. Tough one. Just about keep”.
