Manchester United vs Arsenal is the perfect fixture for the opening weekend of the highly anticipated 2025/26 Premier League season

This exciting match is scheduled for Sunday, August 17, 2025, at Old Trafford. Supporters of both Manchester United and Arsenal are eager for their teams to kick off the new season with a victory.

After a disappointing 2024/25 season, where they finished in 15th place, Manchester United is aiming for a comeback under new manager Rúben Amorim. The club has been active in the transfer market, acquiring new attacking talent, including Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, and Benjamin Šeško.

Meanwhile, Arsenal has also made significant moves during the transfer window, bringing in Viktor Gyökeres to lead their attack. This addition has rekindled hope among fans that the Gunners could be in contention for the Premier League Championship this season.

However, here are the players who might be unavailable for Manchester United vs Arsenal

Manchester United:

Lisandro Martínez: Out for the early part of the season due to a serious knee injury sustained during the 2024/25 season.André Onana: Although back training with the squad after a brief injury at the start of pre-season, it remains uncertain whether he will be available for the game against Arsenal.Joshua Zirkzee: Currently unavailable as he continues to recover from a long-term injury.Noussair Mazraoui: Dealing with a hamstring problem and is not expected to participate in the match against Arsenal.

Arsenal:

Gabriel Jesus: Expected to be sidelined until late autumn to early winter as he recovers from a ruptured ACL injury sustained earlier in the year.Leandro Trossard: While he should be fit for the game against Manchester United, his uncertain future at the club may lead manager Mikel Arteta to leave him out of the lineup.

Prediction:

This is going to be keenly contested between both sides and goals will be scored by both clubs because it is the first game of the season they will go all out against each other. The game will end 2-2 with both sides sharing the spoils.
