Habeeb Okikiola Olalomi, better known as the controversial Nigerian singer Portable, has been formally arraigned at the Isabo High Court in Abeokuta, Ogun State, following a violent altercation with officials from the Ogun State Planning and Development Permit Authority (OGPDPA).
Portable, who had been declared wanted by the police on February 18, surrendered to authorities in Lagos. He was subsequently handed over to the Ogun State Police Command and brought before the court the following day to face charges related to the assault.
The incident that sparked the legal drama occurred on February 5, when officials from the OGPDPA attempted to seal Portable’s bar over alleged issues with permits and insufficient airspace. According to reports, the singer and his associates launched a violent attack on the unarmed officials, who suffered injuries during the confrontation but managed to escape.
As a result of the attack, nine of Portable’s associates were arrested and have since been arraigned on multiple charges, including armed violence, felony, obstruction, assault, and intent to kill.
