Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has been granted bail by the Isabo Magistrate Court in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

The Zaazoo Zeh crooner was arraigned on Thursday morning on a five-count charge, including conspiracy, assault, obstruction, possession of weapons, and conduct likely to cause public harm.

Portable pleaded not guilty to all charges. Alongside him, nine of his aides were also arraigned before Magistrate O. L. Oke on similar charges. The co-defendants include Nurudeen Warris (21), Adetola Alashe (25), Samuel Adeleke (28), Oluwaseun Ayenuwa (19), Oluwapelumi Adeosun (20), Gospel Kanu (20), Precious Ohiegebo (19), Ifeoluwa Babatunde (27), and Fatimo Muhammed (26). They were accused of felony, assault, and obstructing town planning officers while armed with cutlasses and guns, allegedly intending to cause harm and breach public peace.

The charges stem from an incident involving three town planning officials—Abidemi Onabanjo, Ramon Lateef, and Akinpelumi Oyero—who were reportedly attacked while carrying out their lawful duties at Odogwu Bar, a property owned by Portable.

Following the singer’s plea, his legal counsel, Oluwatoyin Ayodele, appealed for bail, stating that Portable had shown remorse and learned from the situation.

Magistrate O. L. Oke granted Portable bail in the sum of ₦2 million with one surety in like sum. The court also adjourned the case to March 5, 2025, for trial.
