Controversial Nigerian street-hop artist Habeeb Olalomi Badmus, popularly known as Portable, has fired back at fellow singer Bella Shmurda following remarks made during a recent podcast interview.
Bella Shmurda, whose real name is Akinbiyi Abiola Ahmed, appeared on skit maker Isbae U’s Curiosity Made Me Ask podcast, where he was asked if he would ever collaborate with Portable.
In his response, Bella politely declined the idea, stating that their music styles don’t align and hinting that he prefers to avoid “wahala” (trouble), a comment many interpreted as a subtle jab at Portable’s often controversial persona.
Unimpressed by the remarks, Portable took to social media in a furious video rant, where he dismissed Bella’s comments and declared himself the bigger and more successful artist. The Zazoo Zeh crooner boasted about his international performances and mocked Bella’s career milestones, even challenging him to display his passport as proof of global recognition.
“Bella’s head no correct. We’re not on the same level,” Portable declared in the video. He went on to claim that Bella Shmurda was only speaking out now to stay relevant ahead of his upcoming album release.
In a particularly controversial moment, Portable referenced the late singer Mohbad, insinuating that misfortune followed after Bella collaborated with him. This statement has since stirred outrage among fans online.
Portable also alleged that he once performed at Bella’s London concert without being paid and warned the singer against making comments about people more influential than him in the industry.
The heated exchange has quickly dominated conversations on Nigerian social media, with fans weighing in on both artists’ remarks and Portable’s latest string of outbursts.
