The Premier League have announced Liverpool’s midfielder, Diogo Jota as the player of the month for January 2024 following his impressive run for the Reds.
The Portuguese international was a key part of Liverpool’s success in January, having scored three goals and two assists in only three appearances, which inspired the Reds to three wins. Jota came off the bench to provide an assist in a 4-2 win over Newcastle United on New Year’s Day, before getting a brace and setting up another goal as the Reds defeated Bournemouth 4-0.
He then scored in a 4-1 victory against Chelsea for his fifth goal involvement of the month. Jota’s goal involvement helped Liverpool remain at the top of the table ahead of Manchester City and Arsenal.
Jota came out top to win the award by topping a six-man list which includes
Elijah Adebayo, Kevin De Bruyne, Gabriel Magalhaes, Richarlison and team-mate Conor Bradley.
He is the second Liverpool player to win the award this season, following on from Mohamed Salah’s triumph in October 2023.
