Pep Guardiola has been named the Premier League manager of the season following his run with Manchester City, leading them to win the Premier League title for the fourth consecutive time.

The body responsible for the award in the Premier League named Pep Guardiola the winner of the award on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The Spaniard expressed his delight and excitement after he was named the winner of the manager of the aeason ward for the second season in a row, he said he would be looking to win the award next season.

Guardiola said,

“I want to share it, yes, oh yes! Especially with Mikel [Arteta] for the incredible job he has done until the last game, bringing us to our limits. Of course, for Jurgen [Klopp], for the unforgettable battles for many, many years. And Unai Emery is doing something unbelievable again to bring Aston Villa to the [UEFA] Champions League. And Andoni Iraola, with Bournemouth, being his first season in the Premier League, doing what he has done, coming back from the tough start of the season. It is an honour to be alongside all of them and to win this trophy. We will defend this award as best as possible in the future.”

Guardiola has also claimed it in four of his five previous 2017/18, 2018/19, 2020/21 and 2022/23. (5) . Only Sir Alex Ferguson has won more Manager of the Season awards than Guardiola (7).

Guardiola emerged winner having counted votes by the public which were combined with those of a panel of football experts to decide who would top a five-man shortlist that also featured Arteta, Emery, Iraola, and Klopp.

Manchester City will be looking to end the season on a high by beating Manchester United in the final of the FA Cup.
