Manchester City Football Club has been the topic of conversation amongst football fans around the world, mostly opposition supporters, following the 115 breaches of financial rules over nine seasons.

The silence from the Premier League body has started a major conversation among the football community, especially about how they were able to react swiftly to the Nottingham Forest and Everton situation.

They were also charged with failing to disclose accurate financial information and managerial remuneration during a period that began their rise to the summit of English football. Manchester City were also alleged to have breached the Premier League’s profitability and sustainability rules (PSR) during three seasons from 2015-16 to 2017-18.

Manchester City has since denied any wrongdoing; according to the club, they are as clean as the sound of a whistle. However, the CEO of the Premier League, Richard Masters, confirmed in an interview with Simon Stone of the BBC that a date has been set to hear Manchester City’s case.

“A date has been set for Manchester City’s FFP case but I can’t tell you when that date is.’

On the other hand, Everton and Nottingham Forest could be playing their football in the Championship next season if the Premier League goes ahead and deducts their points after they were both found guilty of breaking FFP rules.

Richard Masters says ‘a date has been set’ for @ManCity PL case but ‘I can’t tell you when that date is’.
