Former Senate President Bukola Saraki congratulated his son, Seni Saraki, for winning his first-ever Grammy Award at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards. Seni earned the prestigious honor for his contribution to the soundtrack of Bob Marley: One Love, which took home the Grammy for Best Reggae Album.

Taking to social media platform X, Saraki expressed his immense joy at seeing his son’s hard work and passion recognized on a global scale.

In a heartfelt message, he wrote, “Congratulations, Seni, on winning your first Grammy last night for your work on the ‘Bob Marley: One Love’ soundtrack, which took home the award for Best Reggae Album!” He continued, “Seeing you pour your heart into your passion and having it recognized on the global stage is an indescribable joy. Well done! We are super proud of you!”

Seni, who is known for his work in music and entertainment, humbly shared his gratitude upon accepting the award. He thanked the diverse team of artists, producers, and engineers who contributed to the project, many of whom are global music icons themselves. He specifically mentioned Nigerian superstars like Wizkid and Bloody Civilian, as well as international artists including Daniel Caesar and Jessie Reyez. “I appreciate all the amazing artists, producers and engineers who were brave enough to take on this project because it is about Bob Marley’s legacy,” Seni said. “They interpreted the songs in their own unique ways and truly brought something special to this project.”

Bob Marley: One Love is a biographical film celebrating the life and music of reggae legend Bob Marley. The film chronicles his rise to global fame and his journey of overcoming adversity to become one of the most influential musicians in history.

This win follows a series of accolades for Seni, who previously earned recognition for his role as music consultant on the 2022 Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack, which garnered four Grammy nominations.

Seni Saraki, a graduate of the London School of Economics and Political Science, is also the CEO of The Native, a music-focused publication based in Lagos. Founded in 2016 by Seni and fellow music enthusiast Teni ‘Teezee’ Zaccheaus.
