Rapper Odumodublvck recently sparked controversy online after seemingly mocking Brazilian footballer Vinicius Jr for his Ballon d’Or ranking loss to Rodri Cascante in 2024.

The Ballon d’Or ceremony on October 28th surprised many when Manchester City’s Rodri took home the award, surpassing Vinicius Jr, who was widely expected to win. The news quickly circulated across social media, including the award’s official page on X. Following the announcement, Rapper Odumodublvck posted a video from his studio, where he playfully sang phrases like “mumu” and “ewu” directed at Vinicius Jr. In addition, he tweeted that he would continue to put forth his best effort.

This behavior from Odumodublvck upset Vinicius Jr’s supporters and other football fans, who took to social media to defend the Brazilian player. Many criticized Rapper Odumodublvck, questioning his intentions and suggesting that he was overstepping as a musician by making disparaging comments about a respected athlete.

Supporters of Vinicius Jr argued that his exceptional performance and influence on Real Madrid’s season should place him above Rodri in the rankings, challenging Odumodublvck’s understanding of the sport. As criticism grew, Rapper Odumodublvck responded by doubling down on his stance, claiming his right to express his opinion on the ranking results. He even shared a meme of Vinicius, which led some fans to accuse him of being “racist.”
