American rapper Wiz Khalifa has reportedly been indicted in Romania for smoking weed on stage during the Beach, Please! Festival over the summer.

According to Romania-Insider, authorities have decided to charge Rapper Wiz Khalifa, born Cameron Thomaz, with illicit drug use following a Constan?a Tribunal on October 16. Recreational marijuana use is illegal in Romania. If convicted, Rapper Wiz Khalifa could face a prison sentence ranging from three months to two years, or he may be fined. The incident occurred during his headlining performance at the Beach, Please! Festival on July 13, where Wiz Khalifa was detained after lighting a joint on stage. He was released shortly after the performance. Romanian Police released a statement explaining,

“Investigations revealed that during a performance at a music festival in the Costine?ti resort, Constan?a County, he possessed more than 18 grams of cannabis (a risk drug) and consumed another quantity of cannabis on stage in the form of a hand-rolled cigarette.”

The case continues to garner attention as Rapper Wiz Khalifa faces potential legal consequences in Romania.

In other related news, Billboard has received varied reactions from Nigerians on social media after mistakenly attributing a song to American rapper Wiz Khalifa rather than Afrobeats singer Wizkid. On its official Instagram page, the international organization promoted Jamaican singer Shenseea’s latest single titled ‘Work Me Out’ starring Wizkid. However, in the caption, Billboard tagged Khalifa and Shenseea’s handles rather than the Nigerian artist, which sparked outrage.

Billboard Wiz

A Davido fan appeared to criticize Wiz for the mistake made by the music and entertainment magazine, saying, “Even Billboard no sabi Wizkid again.” Wiz Khalifa, ke”. This sparked a heated online battle between Davido’s followers, known as 30BG, and Wizkid FC, who defended the ‘Ojuelegba’ singer.
