Real Madrid’s forward player Kylian Mbappe has been Gastroenteritis after he missed their Club World Cup opener against Al-Hilal.
Kylian Mbappe missed training on Tuesday with a fever and did not play in Wednesday’s 1-1 draw against the Saudi Arabian side. However, Real Madrid released a statement on its official website on Thursday, June 19, 2025, confirming that the forward player was hospitalised.
The statement read as follows,
“Our player Kylian Mbappé is suffering from an acute case of gastroenteritis and has been admitted to hospital in order to undergo a series of tests and follow the appropriate course of treatment.”
What is Gastroenteritis?
Gastroenteritis is an infection in the gut which can cause vomiting and diarrhoea.

Mbappe scored 43 goals in 56 games in all competitions for Real in his first season after joining on a free transfer from Paris St-Germain.
However it is not comfirmed if the French international will be available for Real’s next game is against Pachuca on Sunday, June 22, 2025.
