Arsenal vs Real Madrid is one of the most anticipated quater-final clash in the quater-final fixtures of the 2024/25 UEFA Champions League season.

Real Madrid will be gunning for their 15th Champions League trophy while Arsenal will be hoping that they can lay hands on the trophy for the first time in the club’s history but they will have the Galacticos to contend with to achieve this feat.

Recent form ( Arsenal vs Real Madrid)

The Gunners scored nine goals against PSV Eindhoven in the last 16 to book their spot in the final eight for the second consecutive year.

Arsenal have been unbeaten in their last 10 Champions League games at the Emirates securing eight clean sheets in that time – and Real Madrid’s preparations for their first-ever competitive game at the stadium have been anything but ideal.

On the other hand, Real Madrid edged past Atletico Madrid on penalties in a controversial style after Julian Alvarez’s penalty kick was ruled out because he kicked the ball twice.

Moreover the sides failed to secure victories in their last League games respectively, Arsenal were held to a 1-1 draw against Everton in the Premier League while Real Madrid suffered a late heartbreak against Valencia which they lost 2-1.

Head to Head:

Arsenal vs Real Madrid is not a common fixture in the history of the UEFA Champions League. The last time both sides met was during the 2005/06 season, the fixture was highlighted by Thierry Henry solo goal at the Bernabeu while the second leg ended goalless at Highbury.

Team news:

Arsenal will be without the following players, Gabriel Jesus (knee), Kai Havertz (hamstring), Takehiro Tomiyasu (knee) and Gabriel Magalhaes (hamstring).

Others on the list include Riccardo Calafiori and the banned Raheem Sterling. Mikel Merino suffered a cut to his head in the game against Everton. but should be given the green light to start the game.

Real Madrid will be without Aurelien Tchouameni who was banned for the first leg due to yellow cards accumulation.  Dani Carvajal and Eder Militao – both out for the season with knee problems – but Ferland Mendy (muscle), Thibaut Courtois (muscle) and one-time Gunner Dani Ceballos (calf) are expected to shake off the injuries that made them miss the game against Valencia.

Prediction:

Real Madrid have won each of their last 12 two-legged ties in the quarter-final while Arsenal have not enjoyed success as much as their opponents. However we feel this match is all about experience at this stage of the competition so we say a slight victory for Real Madrid.

Arsenal 1- 2 Real Madrid
